Outlander: Blood of My Blood is back, with season 2 having debuted on September 18th on Starz. The prequel series to Outlander follows the parents of Claire Beauchamp and Jamie Fraser. At the end of Outlander: Blood of My Blood‘s first season, audiences were left hanging as to whether Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine), Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and their child were able to time-travel back from 18th century Scotland to the 20th century.
In the first episode of the second season, only Henry was able to go back to the future. However, it was further into the future, and he is now seen as a crazy person. As a result, the family has been separated once again, leaving this viewer feeling tortured after seeing the family reunite at the end of the first season.
“It’s torture for us as well, trust me,” Corfield tells Nerd Reactor during a roundtable interview. “We want to go on a holiday. We want our characters to have a lovely holiday. Um no. Look, we have both had some really great stuff in this season – in the first season and this season too. Particularly because we find ourselves at rock bottom in season two. So it’s really about us clawing our way back and trying to renegotiate and recalibrate a way to find our way back to our family. They’re interesting scenes to play, and I hope that the audience is on the journey with us because I enjoy doing them.”
“We want them to get back together too,” Irvine added.
“Simple answer. That would be really nice,” Corfield concluded.
