The Biggest Takeaways and Questions from Marvel’s Multiverse Saga

Marvel Studios has revealed more details for Phase Five and Six of the Multiverse Saga.

With the Fantastic Four kicking off the final phase, it’s a fitting start on the way to the two Avengers films that close out Phase Six.

In the comics, Kang the Conqueror is a distant descendant of either Mr. Fantastic or Doctor Doom. Also, Reed and Doom were integral to the 1984 and 2015 Secret Wars storylines.

Whoever gets cast as Marvel’s first family and Doctor Doom will have a busy schedule non-stop for a year. If these characters are as critical to the Avengers films, they’ll have to film them back-to-back-to-back.

Fantastic Four, Avengers: Kang Dynasty, and Avengers: Secret Wars are all slated to be released within a few months from each other.

The 1984 version of Secret Wars gave us our first tie-in with the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men. With six titles between Fantastic Four and The Kang Dynasty, there are plenty of opportunities to introduce Charles Xavier and his band of mutants inside Battleworld.

With a clear pathway to Avengers: Secret Wars, the question remains. Where do the already announced movies and television shows lie in the timeline? Titles like Shang-Chi 2 and Armor Wars were noticeably absent in Phases Five and Six timelines.

In the comics, the incursions in 2015’s Secret Wars combined the 616 Universe with the Ultimates-1610 one. It allowed Marvel to simplify the comics by keeping them to one universe.

However, when there is no 1610 universe to speak of, what will the mainstream MCU universe cause an incursion with? The multiverse and the different variants?

A lot of these answers are bound to be answered at some point during the Multiverse Saga. However, it’s always fun to talk and speculate about these things because that’s just what we fans like to do.
