For those attending San Diego Comic-Con, here’s your chance to experience the ultimate Transformers concert. Hasbro and Reigning Phoenix Music will host the music event, which will take place on Thursday, July 23, at House of Blues San Diego.

The concert will feature The Transformers: The Movie – The Soundtrack – The Reformatted Edition and will be performed live by Knights of Unicron. Stan Bush will be performing “The Touch.” Original composer Vince DiCola will also perform, along with Cold Slither and Britta Phillips (original singing voice of Jem from Jem and the Holograms). Additionally, Hasbro will have Transformers exclusives at the convention, including the Transformers Optimus Prime & Autobot Jazz Cereal Box Set and Transformers Jem and the Holograms Autobot Blaster & KP GLIT, KP Sundor, and KP Rosanna.

Kawamori has a new film, Labyrinth, which hits U.S. theaters on May 10th and 11th. If you have seen his previous works, music and technology have been important. With Labyrinth, a high school girl named Shiori (voiced by Atarashii Gakko!’s Suzuka) dreams of becoming an online sensation. After being in a viral but embarrassing video, she is trapped inside her smartphone and replaced by a doppelganger who becomes famous.

“When I think about my past work like Macross, or the Valkyrie, or even Transformers, they have a lot of physical power because they’re giant robots,” Kawamori tells Nerd Reactor. “But a smartphone, even though it’s so much smaller, I think it can have an equivalent or maybe even more power, because you can really affect someone on the other side of the world. So I think technology is very alluring, but also that is the part of the danger that most people don’t realize.”

Kawamori is influenced by growing up in a rural area like Toyama and the modern city of Yokohama. Fans can see the inspiration in his work.

“I was born in traditional arts, and nature was the core of our lives,” the director said. “Then I came to this technology-filled city. I don’t think one is better than the other. I think both are important, and both are very interesting to me. I wanted to always come up with ways where that duality could coexist, and also combine them to create something more interesting and fun. I think that journey of exploring that is really my more than 40 years of work, and it continues into Labyrinth.”

The Bumblebee G1 Performance captures his classic look including the colors, signature horns, and Volkswagon Beetle aesthetic. He’s equipped with functioning eyes, footlights, motion, and original sounds.

Thanks to his 17 server motors, Bumblebee can walk, dodge bullets like Neo from The Matrix, do single-leg squats, side kicks, bend over, and other complex poses. With the built-in 6-Axis IMU, it’ll handle the balancing act, and If he does fall from posing, he can get back up automatically.

His actions can be controlled via the app or using your voice. There are 20 pre-installed voice commands and over 69 original G1 sound bytes. Robosen even brought in Dan Gilvezan, the original voice actor for G1 Bumblebee.

The 14-inch tall robotic figure includes 45 custom-engineered microchips and 17 body parts, and he weighs in at 2.6 lbs.

With the Mini Theater feature, Bumblebee can interact with Robosen’s Optimus Prime Flagship and Elite versions including sequences and other options.

The only big downside is that the Bumblebee G1 Performance can’t transform.

The Optimus Prime GoKart Pro features a high-strength steel frame, special drifting TPE rear tires and triple anti-collision protection. It has been tested on a professional racetrack and can reach up to 24.8 mph with 15.5 miles range on one charge.

The Optimus Prime GoKart Pro comes with an exclusive metal plate with a unique batch number and exclusive Transformers startup chime. The E-Kart is scheduled to ship on July 1, 2023.

It joins a lineup including the Megatron GT2 SuperScooter, Bumblebee GoKart Pro and Bumblebee C8 Kids KickScooter.
