Loki recently made a surprise appearance in Avengers: Endgame Encore, visiting Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter in the past. The scene gave fans a taste of things to come for Avengers: Doomsday.

“At the end of Loki season two, he realizes that he can use his power as a demigod for a greater purpose, that the whole journey of Loki has been an exploration of purpose and meaning,” Hiddleston tells Nerd Reactor during the press junket for Apple TV’s Tenzing. “And his purpose exists for others, and that he’s going to use that purpose. So I arrived in Doomsday with all of that experience, with that story having been told, and it created a new starting point.”

With Loki holding down the timeline in the MCU, it has given rise to a theory about his importance in Avengers: Doomsday. One theory suggests that he is serving as the stand-in for Molecule Man, a powerful Marvel Comics character featured in the Secret Wars storyline who helped Doctor Doom create Battleworld. However, Hiddleston did not confirm the theory during the interview.

You can catch Hiddleston in Tenzing, currently in select theatres and will be available on Apple TV on October 16, 2026.

However, the biggest surprise was when Coogler announced that David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus, The Long Walk), who has made him one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising stars, will become the grown-up T’Challa from Wakanda Forever.

Jonsson’s casting also feels like a fitting continuation of what Coogler has built across the first two films. Coogler has consistently elevated remarkable performers and allowed the characters to define the story. Jonsson has steadily earned praise for bringing depth and vulnerability to every role he’s taken on. Thus, it makes him an inspired choice to follow in the footsteps of the late, great Chadwick Boseman.

’However, he’s not going to let the pressure of following Chadwick Boseman get to him. “I actually don’t want to say too much, because I want to let the screen do the talking,” Jonsson said. “But believe me, the honor is entirely mine.”

Black Panther 3 hits theaters on December 15, 2028.

During Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige started the panel with one of its biggest surprises. He confirmed that the studio has officially begun work on a new Ghost Rider film. Feige then welcomed Ryan Gosling and director Shawn Levy to the stage. “You know this is a character that I’ve wanted to play for a very long time. So, Kevin, Josh Horowitz, Hall H, thank you,” said Gosling.

Gosling will play Ghost Rider in what marks the Spirit of Vengeance’s long-awaited debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Levy, who most recently directed Deadpool & Wolverine, is attached to helm the project, while Jonathan Tropper is writing the screenplay.

For a few years now, Gosling has been actively and publicly stating that he would love to play Ghost Rider. Back in 2022, while promoting The Gray Man, he told interviewer Josh Horowitz that if he could choose any Marvel role, Ghost Rider would be the one. Kevin Feige even responded publicly at the time, saying he would love to find a place for Gosling in the MCU. Fast forward a few years, and that conversation has come full circle in the biggest way possible.

In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes at Comic-Con, he said that Ryan pitched an idea and a vision for the film to his Star Wars: Starfighter director, Shawn Levy, and then pitched it to Kevin Feige. Feige loved the idea, and here we are, with Ryan finally landing the role he wanted.

The trailer leans heavily on providing more information about Victor Von Doom. It’s also clear Marvel is taking inspiration from the Fantastic Four comics by emphasizing that Reed Richards and Sue Storm knew Victor long before he became an armored tyrant. Speaking to the assembled and seemingly defeated force of Avengers, X-Men, and New Avengers, Sue reflects on the man Victor used to be.

“Victor was always the smartest guy in every room,” she says. “He used to be different. He used to be kind, used to be caring. But then everything he loved was taken from him. I knew he was lost, but I did not realize that he was broken.”

As she speaks, the trailer cuts to the haunting image of the mother and child from the official Avengers: Doomsday poster—suggesting that whatever tragedy shaped Victor lies at the heart of everything that’s about to happen.

Next, Reed Richards confronts Doom amid massive destruction, with Thor visible among the devastation. “Victor, did you do this?!” Reed demands while Doom stares hatefully at Reed.

“All of you have lived stolen lives. Now you must give them back,” Doom says.

Reed shouts again, desperate for an answer. Afterward, Doom flies out the window; he glides downward with his cape spreading behind him.

“I swear, you will beg for hell long before I grant it.” Then, a montage also gives us a glimpse of Love, Thor’s daughter, and a shot of Steve with his baby and more dramatic shots of our heroes. Thor attacks him and blocks Stormbreaker with two fingers. He flings Stormbreaker aside and easily blasts Thor away. Doom then uses sorcery to raise an army of Sentinels from the ground. “Hell answers to me,” says Doom.

If this trailer is any indication, Marvel isn’t treating Doom as just the next Avengers villain. They’re presenting him as Marvel Comics’ most powerful and iconic villain. As a comics-accurate villain that Marvel fans have been waiting for.

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18th.

With so many X-Men characters in the 20th Century Studios films, it’s safe to say that many mutants will be left out. For example, Shawn Ashmore told us that he won’t be returning in Avengers: Doomsday. The actor first portrayed Bobby Drake, aka Iceman, in X2 (X-Men 2).

As for another X-Men actor, Caleb Landry Jones, who played Banshee in X-Men: First Class, said that he would be open to returning as Banshee in the MCU during the red carpet premiere of Dracula. The character was killed off-screen in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the multiverse, anything is possible.

“Yeah, I’d be down to fall out of a window again,” Jones said about returning as Banshee and referencing his scene in X-Men: First Class. “I’m positive that my wife and I will be in the theaters to go see [Avengers: Doomsday], absolutely. Probably on opening day, if there’s still a ticket.”

Audiences can see Caleb Landry Jones as Count Dracula in Luc Besson’s Dracula, which is now playing in theaters nationwide.

About Dracula

Synopsis: When a 15th-century prince (Caleb Landry Jones) witnesses the brutal murder of his wife (Zoe Bleu), he renounces God and damns heaven itself. Cursed with eternal life, he is reborn as Dracula, an immortal warlord who defies fate in a blood-soaked crusade to wrench his lost love back from death, no matter the cost. On the verge of reuniting, Dracula is hunted by a relentless priest (Christoph Waltz), sworn to end his immortal reign.

The film is written, directed & produced by Luc Besson. It stars Caleb Landry Jones, Christoph Waltz, Zoë Bleu, Guillaume de Tonquedec, Matilda de Angelis, Ewens Abid and Raphael Luce.

Filming is currently in production for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and fans are speculating that the Inner Demons, a gang led by Mister Negative, will be in the movie based on the logo on this tank. This adds to more rumors about Mister Negative appearing in the upcoming film. However, Oyoung has something to say about the rumors of Mister Negative in the MCU.

“Every year we’ve talked, and the rumors have kind of increased this year,” Oyoung tells Nerd Reactor in an April interview. “It really felt like all of a sudden it was super serious. This rumor. And then, as far as the information that I know, from my professional sources, again, NDAs are all bound by everything. But yeah, I know some things. I can just say that. I’ll just tell the fans this, though, as far as Sony or Marvel approaching me, that hasn’t happened. And I would let you know if it did, or I would not let you know if it did.”

The actor doubles down on how the studios didn’t contact him.

“So all I can say is they haven’t approached me,” the actor said. “But what I can say is this, for the first time in my entire career, the amount of support from my side has reached critical mass. It has never been this large in my entire career. And I worked for like 18 years. For the first 10 to 12 years, nobody knew who I was. Then the game comes out, and now a few people know who I am. And now it’s what, six years on since the first game came out. Now it feels like every gamer knows who I am, which is amazing. So for the first time, I actually have some support in my end, which is coming from the gaming community.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day sees the return of Tom Holland as Peter Parker, and a lot of footage and photos have been posted by fans and onlookers in Glasgow, Scotland, which doubles as New York City.

The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.

Short? Yes. Sweet? Very. But that’s all it took for Spidey fans across the multiverse to lose their collective minds.

A New Day, A New Suit

The blink-and-you’ll-miss-it teaser, dropped this morning on Marvel’s official channels, doesn’t show much, but what it does reveal speaks volumes. Set against a blacked-out backdrop, we see a shadow suddenly turn into view, appearing very close in frame. This close-up reveals a fresh take on the classic red-and-blue Spidey suit: sleeker lines, detailed materials, and the sense of a bold new chest emblem creeping in that has fans already theorizing about its inspiration and implications.

While there’s no dialogue or plot hints just yet, the clip oozes style and intent: this isn’t just a wardrobe change. It’s a statement. With Brand New Day, it’s clear that the Web-Head is heading into uncharted territory.

What Brand New Day Could Mean for Spidey

Fans of the comics will immediately recognize Brand New Day as one of the more controversial and pivotal eras in Spider-Man’s history, following the events of One More Day. That storyline reset Peter Parker’s world, stripping him of his marriage to MJ, reshuffling his rogues’ gallery, and rebooting his place in the Marvel Universe.

While the MCU has taken creative liberties in the past, this title might signal a significant turning point. After the emotionally charged events of No Way Home, which left Peter Parker isolated and forgotten by those closest to him, Brand New Day could very well explore the consequences of that spell, and what it means for a Spider-Man with nothing left to lose but everything to prove.

A Big Year Ahead for the Web-Slinger

With the July 31, 2026 release now locked in, Spider-Man fans can officially start counting down. The film is expected to serve as a major milestone in the MCU’s evolving saga, possibly tying into other street-level heroes and larger multiversal threats. While casting and story details remain under wraps, Marvel promises that more news, including a full-length trailer, will debut later this year.

Until then, the teaser will have to hold us over, and it does its job beautifully. The new suit alone is already inspiring fan art, cosplay plans, and wild theories about what’s next for everyone’s favorite Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

Final Thoughts

On a day meant to celebrate one of pop culture’s most beloved icons, Marvel gave fans a perfect gift: a tease of what’s to come, a suit worthy of a new era, and the promise of big-screen heroics just around the corner.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters July 31, 2026, and if today’s glimpse is any indication, Peter Parker’s next chapter is going to be one for the ages. Keep your Spidey senses sharp, more updates are surely swinging our way soon.

In the teaser trailer, we get to see Riri creating her new armored suit.

“Ironheart is such a great character in publishing,” said Coogler. “In 2016, Brian Michael Bendis created a character who would be a successor of sorts to the Iron Man legacy. In the comic book, Riri Williams and Tony Stark had a relationship—she was a student at MIT who came from an almost polar opposite background as Tony, but they came together in their passion to better society. Eventually, the character gets her own identity as Ironheart, and other writers like Eve Ewing picked up from there, taking Riri Williams to Chicago.”

About Ironheart

Synopsis: Set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ironheart pits technology against magic when Riri—determined to make her mark on the world—returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins aka “The Hood” (Anthony Ramos).

The series also stars Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam and Anji White.

Chinaka Hodge is head writer; episodes are directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes.

Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler. The music is composed by Dara Taylor.

Produced in association with Proximity Media, Ironheart premieres on Disney+ June 24, 2025.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is getting a big bump today with reports of Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones and Matthew Lillard confirming that he’ll be in the new season in a minor role. With the first season of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+, fans got to see the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.

One of the most important characters in Matt Murdock’s life is Elektra, and in Netflix’s Daredevil Season 2, she was portrayed by Elodie Yung. Will the actor be reprising her role in the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again?

“It’s so interesting and all the fans are reaching out,” Yung tells Nerd Reactor about whether she’ll return as Elektra in an interview timed to the current season of her series, Cleaning Lady. “My answer is: I would of course! I would love to go back. She’s such an interesting, crazy character. Who wouldn’t want to do this again?”

“But I don’t have any scoop to tell you,” she explained. “I don’t have any breaking news right now. I keep saying to everyone that I’m back. I guess this is manifestation. I’m like, ‘Yes, of course I’m back in their next season, but I don’t know. I would love to.”

The Cleaning Lady

Yung can be seen currently as the titular character in The Cleaning Lady. The crime series is now in its fourth season. She portrays Thony De La Rosa, an immigrant and a former surgeon who is currently working and living in Las Vegas. She’ll do whatever it takes to help her son with his medical treatments. As a result, it has led her down a path to working with a criminal organization.

“[The Cleaning Lady] keeps you on the edge of your seat, always,” Elodie Yung said. “I love how this season, there’s a shift in her personality. You can throw as many things at her and now she’s going to have different approaches to different tactics. And this is the shift really. The season prior to that, she was more reactive to things because it wasn’t her world – the cartel, the mob, this underground dark world with violence. She’s learned the codes this season. I feel like she’s smarter. I feel that she’s reclaiming her identity and her power, but still has to deal with a lot.”

You can watch Elodie Yung in the current season of The Cleaning Lady, which is airing new episodes on Tuesdays 8/7c on Fox.

One of the fan-favorite characters in the X-Men universe is Bobby Drake, aka Iceman. Will fans get to see the omega-level mutant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

“So this is the weird part of it,” Ashmore tells Nerd Reactor. “It’s like, if I was, I couldn’t say that I was, but I’m not. There’s been no contact. I’m not cast in it. I mean, I’ve been getting that since the last Deadpool movie. Everyone’s like, ‘Are you in it?’ And I’m like, ‘No.’ And they’re like, ‘Okay [winks].’ But no, no, I’m actually not. And again, I’m always open to coming back and playing that character. But yeah, so far, no, no contact.”

You can check out the video interview below:

Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are the directors, with Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely attached as writers.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released in theaters on May 1, 2026.

Shawn Ashmore can be seen in The Rookie and the horror film It Feeds, which stars Ashley Greene (Twilight) and releases in theaters on April 18, 2025.
