Warner Bros. Studios and DC have released the official trailer for Superman, giving viewers and fans a good look at the heart of the Man of Steel.

It starts off with Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) asking as Clark Kent (David Corenswet) if he is okay with her interviewing him as Superman. The reporter grills him on the questions, and he’s upset at her because he just wants to save people and do good. It later cuts to all the mayhem and action, including a part where Lex Luthor and the Engineer infiltrate Superman’s Fortress of Solitude.

The trailer does a good job of capturing what Superman represents, and Corenswet isn’t taking the job lightly.

“I thought, ‘Well, how could it possibly get better than this?’” Corenswet tells Nerd Reactor about getting the part of Superman. “And then James brought together such a great crew of people and a cast of actors that I had the same experience of like how can it be this good and also on how it’s such an amazing film – something that’s going to be seen by so many people and it means so much to so many people.”

About Superman

DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn are producing the film, which Gunn directs from his own screenplay, based on characters from DC, Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.

The film stars David Corenswet (Twisters, Hollywood) in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (the X-Men movies) as Lex Luthor. The film also stars Edi Gathegi (For All Mankind), Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Gotham), Nathan Fillion (the Guardians of the Galaxy films, The Suicide Squad), Isabela Merced (“Alien Romulus”), Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza, Booksmart), Sara Sampaio (At Midnight), María Gabriela de Faría (The Moodys), Wendell Pierce (Selma, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Alan Tudyk (Andor), Pruitt Taylor Vince (Bird Box) and Neva Howell (Greedy People).

Superman is executive produced by Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars Winther. Behind the camera, Gunn is joined by frequent collaborators, including director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky and composer John Murphy, along with composer David Fleming (The Last of Us) and editors William Hoy (The Batman) and Craig Alpert (Deadpool 2, Blue Beetle).

Superman will be released in theaters nationwide on July 11, 2025, and internationally beginning 9 July 2025.

DC and Warner Bros have released the official teaser trailer for Superman, marking a new era for DC Studios and its first film set in the DC Universe. It stars David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Superman is known as the Boy Scout with the motto of “Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow,” and the new trailer gives us a taste of a more hopeful version as compared to the DCEU.

The teaser trailer gives us a lot of information, but the story is still vague. Aside from Superman, Lois and Lex, we see Mister Terrific, Metamorpho, Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Jimmy Olsen, and more. We do know that there are threats, and there are people who love Superman and those who are protesting the Man of Steel himself. Also, the tribute to John Williams’ iconic theme is a nice touch.

The DC Universe currently has shows available including Creature Commandos and Peacemaker. After Superman, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will debut in 2026.

About Superman

Synopsis: Superman, DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.

Maisel) as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (the X-Men movies, Mad Max: Fury Road) as Lex Luthor. The film also stars Edi Gathegi (For All Mankind), Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Gotham), Nathan Fillion (the Guardians of the Galaxy films, The Suicide Squad), Isabela Merced (Alien Romulus, Transformers: The Last Knight), Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza, Booksmart), Sara Sampaio (At Midnight), María Gabriela de Faría (The Moodys), Wendell Pierce (Selma, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Alan Tudyk (Andor, Firefly), Pruitt Taylor Vince (Bird Box) and Neva Howell (Greedy People).

Superman is executive produced by Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars Winther. Behind the camera, Gunn is joined by frequent collaborators, including director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky and composer John Murphy, along with editors Craig Alpert (Deadpool 2, Blue Beetle), Jason Ballantine (the IT films, The Flash) and William Hoy (The Batman).

Superman will be in theaters and IMAX nationwide on July 11, 2025, and internationally beginning 9 July 2025, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The dawn of a new era is here for DC Studios with the release of the Superman teaser trailer. It has given us a good look at the many characters in the DC Universe by director James Gunn including Superman, Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Krypto, Mister Terrific, Guy Gardner, and many more.

“I didn’t come in here to write a Superman movie and say, ‘Oh, I want to honor this and honor that and also be new and open to the fans,'” James Gunn said during the trailer event at Warner Bros. Studios on Monday. “Those are thoughts I had along the way of writing the script originally and along the path of making the movie. But for me, I wanted to tell a story that excited me and moved me and felt authentic.”

Superman is known for his motto including “Truth, Justice, and the American Way” and “Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow.” Gunn wanted to capture the spirit of a good Superman in the film.

“But I knew that I wanted to have a Superman that stayed true to his origins of being the ultimate good guy. I think that it was a movie about kindness. It was a movie about being good. I remember talking to these guys [Corenswet, Broshnahan, Hoult] when we had our cast dinner the night before we started shooting or something like that, and at the end of the day, the world doesn’t always seem to have so much good in it. This movie has to truly be that, and for it to truly be that means that we had to be good to each other. We had to be good to the crew and then it had to be that authentically.”

David Corenswet portrays the Man of Steel, the iconic DC superhero who is a positive force in the world of the DC Universe.

“I think a lot of people consider Superman to be a naive character, or at least to have a naivety about him,” the actor said. “I think there’s an element of that but I think it really is just sort of a blindness to the little imperfections and the little conflicts – the silly little things that we get caught up with as people. I tend to miss those and I think Superman misses those, and that’s what keeps him steadfast and determined to look at the good and the hopeful and the future and grounded in the fun and playfulness of the present.”

A hero is only as good as the villain, and we can’t have a Superman movie without Lex Luthor. Portraying the iconic DC villain is Nicholas Hoult.

“This Lex is obviously smart and ruthless, and he has to outmaneuver Superman on certain levels because he can’t match him in others,” Hoult said. “But there’s also something about this character from my standpoint where even though you perhaps don’t agree with his process, there’s an element where you can understand on some levels where he is coming from and why perhaps what he’s pushing as his ideology is perhaps better for the humanity.”

Lois Lane is a journalist for the Daily Planet and a love interest for Superman. Like the titular hero, she is in the pursuit of truth and justice. The character is portrayed by Rachel Brosnahan.

“What I love about their relationship, every iteration of the comic books and all the films and television series, is that they’re soulmates,” Brosnahan said. “They’re united in the fact that they are both in relentless pursuit of truth and justice. But they approach the world in totally different ways. Because of her profession but also because of who she is, she questions everything. She questions everyone. She’s trying to see around every corner and that’s the way that she faces the world in Superman.”

About Superman

The film stars David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
