The footage opens on a retro-style talk show called The Ted Gilbert Show, where the host reflects on the team’s impact: “Our city and our planet owe them a great debt.” Clearly, the world sees the Fantastic Four as heroes—and maybe even saviors.

We catch up with the team in a quieter moment as they celebrate and adjust to a major life update: Sue Storm is pregnant. But before there’s time to enjoy the good news, things take a dark turn with the arrival of a mysterious visitor—the Silver Surfer.

Shalla-Bal asks the team: “Are you the protectors of this world? For your world has been marked for extermination.”

The scientist and strategist Reed Richards grapples with the guilt of possibly dooming the planet. He believes their space exploration and experimentation may have accidentally triggered the coming of Galactus. “We stretched the boundaries of space and made that thing heard,” he confesses.

When people confront Reed with the question, “Are we safe?” he replies, “I don’t know.”

But even with the weight of the world (literally) on his shoulders, Reed finds strength in what’s coming next. “We will protect you,” he says, not just to the world—but to their future child.

It looks like The Fantastic Four: First Steps will explore the emotional stakes and cosmic consequences of Reed’s actions. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Reed has endangered the world before in the name of discovery. In the comics, he once tampered with the Ultimate Nullifier, a weapon capable of erasing existence. He later helped build planet-destroying tech during Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Wars saga, which led to the collapse of the multiverse.

Disney has released the first teaser trailer for Tron: Ares, giving fans a fresh glimpse at the long-awaited next chapter of the groundbreaking sci-fi saga. Jared Leto leads the cast as the mysterious Ares. At the same time, Jeff Bridges returns as Kevin Flynn, making his first on-screen appearance in the franchise since Tron: Legacy.

And yes—it looks absolutely wild.

There are several things to note about the teaser trailer. Yet, the biggest one is that this isn’t just another Tron film spent on the Grid. This time, the Grid is breaking out of the computer. Light cycles are speeding through the real world now, slicing a police car clean in half by projecting their signature glowing wall. We also see a Recognizer—those giant hovering transport ships from the original films—towering over city buildings.

Overall, in this chaos, we hear Jeff Bridges’ iconic voice as Kevin Flynn: “Are you ready? Because there’s no going back.” We don’t know precisely how Kevin Flynn is back. Still, the fact that Bridges came out on stage with Jared Leto at CinemaCon means he will be an integral part of the story.

Adding even more excitement to the sequel is the music. Tron: Ares will feature an original score by Nine Inch Nails. While people still praise Daft Punk’s legendary Tron: Legacy soundtrack, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross bring their signature sound to Ares. Thus, expect something atmospheric, industrial, and deeply immersive to match this darker, more grounded take on the Grid. If there’s any composer or group that can follow up Daft Punk, it would be Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

The teaser also offers quick glimpses of Leto’s Ares, though his entire role remains under wraps. Tron: Ares is the third film in the franchise, following the 1982 original and 2010’s Tron: Legacy. With Ares, we know this is a new kind of Tron—one where the boundaries between humans and programs are blurring in a big way.

Liam Neeson steps into the role of bumbling cop Frank Drebin Jr., son of the legendary (and equally clueless) Frank Drebin from the original films. It’s a big comedic pivot for Neeson, who’s better known for killing many bad guys than cracking jokes. Still, if the trailer’s anything to go by, he’s gleefully diving headfirst into the slapstick chaos.

If you’re worried, the reboot wouldn’t capture the spirit of the originals—fear not. This new Naked Gun embraces the chaos with open arms and flailing limbs. The first teaser trailer delivers a barrage of sight gags, deadpan delivery, and pure Zucker-style absurdity, updated for a new generation. If the teaser trailer’s any indication, we’re in for a gloriously dumb and wildly fun ride.

Oh, and the extra CinemaCon footage? Pure chaos. There are plenty of Austin Powers-esque innuendos, including a heat vision camera sequence that features Neeson, Anderson, and a dog in strategically placed positions. Yep. It’s that kind of movie.

We also get a classic Naked Gun moment where Neeson is driving, and someone casually hands him a cup of coffee—just as he’s clearly doing something wildly unsafe behind the wheel. And in one of the more hilariously over-the-top scenes, Neeson literally rips a man’s arms off and starts beating him with them, all while keeping that signature straight face.

Directed by Akiva Schaffer (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers), the film promises to blend old-school slapstick with a modern touch without losing what made the originals so beloved.

But suppose you’ve only seen the 1987 version starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. In that case, you might wonder what the original story is about.

Published in 1982, The Running Man takes place in a bleak 2025 where America is ruled by a corrupt government and society is glued to violent reality TV shows. The most infamous one is The Running Man, a nationwide manhunt in which contestants are given a head start and then hunted down by professional killers. If they survive 30 days, they win a massive cash prize.

Glen Powell’s character, Ben Richards, is an ordinary guy down on his luck. His daughter is gravely ill, and in desperation, he volunteers for the game to earn money for her treatment. But once he’s out in the world, it’s not just the Hunters he has to worry about—they encourage every citizen to hunt him in for a reward. It’s a brutal, nonstop chase filled with paranoia, desperation, and tension.

Unlike the action-packed, arena-style chaos of the Schwarzenegger film, the book is more of a gritty, grounded chase-across-America thriller. The CinemaCon footage shows Glen Powell’s Ben Richards on the run inside an apartment building, fending off attacks from pilots and dodging grenades thrown his way. Colman Domingo’s over-the-top character hypes up the chaos by looking into the camera and shouting, “The thrill of the hunt! Can you feel it?! This is America goddamit and we don’t put up with no bullshit.” As the action ramps up, Powell defiantly yells, “I’m still here, you shiteaters!”

“Probably what I get for asking Tom Cruise for advice on using a stunt double.” Powell said before the clip. “Now that I’ve gone through fire, I can say I’ve never worked harder on a movie in my life.”

The Running Man hits theaters on November 7th.

The trailer teases a new threat, a fresh-faced young student learning two distinct styles. Not to mention, there are plenty of heartfelt callbacks like the classic training montage.

Karate Kid Legends follows kung fu prodigy Li Fong is uprooted from his home in Beijing and forced to move to New York City with his mother after a family tragedy. Li struggles to let go of his past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates, and although he doesn’t want to fight, trouble seems to find him everywhere. However, when a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition – but his skills alone aren’t enough. Li’s kung fu teacher, Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), enlists original Karate Kid Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) for help. As a result, Li learns a new way to fight, merging their two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown.

Joining Chan, Macchio, and Wang is Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen.

Ana de Armas, star of the upcoming spinoff Ballerina, stopped by CinemaCon to premiere an extended action sequence. In the clip, her character, Eve Macarro, has a shootout and fights hand-to-hand with a would-be assassin. She kills the guy and then walks off, but then she gets attacked by the bar’s waitress. After more hand-to-hand combat and a hilarious fight with plates, she locks her in a freezer and walks out.

While de Armas had some action experience in No Time to Die, she says Ballerina took things to a new level. “For Bond, I only had three weeks of training. Ballerina was a whole other level,” she said. “This is by far the most physical and challenging thing I’ve ever done.”

Reeves will also be reprising his role in Ballerina — and he’s reuniting with director Chad Stahelski for John Wick 5. No plot details yet, but the film is officially in the works.

Lionsgate also revealed a new spinoff focused on Donnie Yen’s character, Caine, from John Wick: Chapter 4. Yen will star, direct, and executive produce the untitled film, which begins filming in Hong Kong later this year. Lionsgate teased that the film would be in the vein of classic Hong Kong action flicks.

Finally, an animated prequel is coming, with Reeves voicing the character. The film will explore how Wick completed the infamous “Impossible Task” to leave the criminal underworld and be with his true love, Helen. Animation veteran Shannon Tindle (Ultraman: Rising) is directing the prequel, which has a screenplay by Vanessa Taylor (The Shape of Water, Game of Thrones).

The first John Wick spinoff, Ballerina, hits theaters on June 6th.

What Was “Brand New Day” in the Comics?

Brand New Day was a 2008 relaunch of the Spider-Man comic line, following the controversial One More Day storyline. In that arc, Peter Parker made a deal with Mephisto to save Aunt May’s life—at the cost of his marriage to Mary Jane and the world’s knowledge of his secret identity.

With Brand New Day, Peter’s slate was wiped clean. He was no longer married, living in Avengers Tower, and no longer the public face of Spider-Man. Instead, he was back in a cramped apartment, job-hunting and facing the consequences of being a broke, single superhero in NYC.

But the story wasn’t just about resetting—Brand New Day introduced a bunch of fresh elements to Spidey’s world:

• New villains, like Mister Negative (a major player in Marvel’s Spider-Man game) and Menace.
• J. Jonah Jameson suffered a heart attack, with the Daily Bugle falling into the hands of rival media mogul Dexter Bennett.
• Peter’s love life rebooted, with new romantic interests like police forensic scientist Carlie Cooper.
• A return to the Bugle beat, with Peter hustling for freelance photos and balancing superhero work with paying rent once again.

A “back to basics” approach put Peter’s everyday struggles front and center while updating the supporting cast and injecting new energy into his rogues’ gallery.

The Brand New Day Connection to the MCU

In No Way Home, Peter makes a different kind of sacrifice—he asks Doctor Strange to make everyone forget who he is to save the multiverse. By the end, he’s alone, anonymous, broke, and rebuilding his life from scratch. He even sews his own suit (the classic suit, yay!). The parallels to Brand New Day are impossible to miss.

The MCU version skips the magic devil deal (thankfully). Still, thematically, we’re in the same territory: a full character reset that opens up a “new day” for storytelling. It’s Spider-Man unburdened by the Avengers, Stark tech, and high school drama. He’s back to street-level, classic Spidey.

The fact that Spider-Man 4 is titled Brand New Day tells us we’re getting Peter at his most raw and relatable: scraping by, balancing personal problems with superhero responsibilities, and maybe even working at the Daily Bugle.

Not to mention the rumor that Sydney Sweeney would join her fellow Euphoria castmate, Zendaya, as Black Cat—a rumor that’s been floating around for a while now.

2. Mister Negative Is Coming

Given Brand New Day introduced Mister Negative—and considering he was the big bad in Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4/PS5—it’s not far-fetched to think the MCU might adapt him next. His dual identity (Martin Li) as a benevolent philanthropist and ruthless crime lord makes him perfect for this next chapter’s grounded, gritty vibe.

3. Kingpin as the Overarching Threat

We’ve already seen Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in Hawkeye, Echo, and Daredevil: Born Again, so clearly Marvel Studios is positoning him as a major force in Marvel’s street-level stories. A young, unknown Peter working in NYC while dodging Kingpin’s empire? The connection makes a lot of sense for the world that MCU has been building with its television series.

4. MJ and Ned Could Return—But Differently

Now that they’ve forgotten Peter, some fans believe MJ and Ned could return as slightly altered versions of themselves—maybe MJ’s working at the Bugle, maybe Ned’s on a darker path (Hobgoblin rumors still linger). With multiverse weirdness in play, nothing’s off the table.

5. Harry Osborn and Oscorp—Finally

Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe) made a big splash in No Way Home. However, the MCU’s Earth-616 hasn’t yet introduced Oscorp or Norman Osborn. Brand New Day might be the perfect time to do it. While Peter does know of Norman Osborn, there could be a chance that Peter befriends someone in college and later finds out that the friend is none other than Harry Osborn.

6. The X-Men

Speaking of new friends, one of the louder rumors floating around is that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink will be playing Jean Grey in the MCU’s upcoming mutant rollout. Think about it: a new girl in town who Peter befriends, who’s clearly different in a way he can’t explain. It would echo the fresh start of Brand New Day while subtly introducing the mutant gene into the street-level Marvel scene—especially if Peter himself notices things aren’t quite “normal” in NYC anymore.
