Life-Size Optimus Prime Appears at SXSW 2023
SXSW is currently happening in Austin, TX, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts made a huge impact at this year’s festival at the Porsche House. A life-size statue was revealed for Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots. In addition, Optimus Primal, the leader of the Maximals, also made an appearance as a giant statue along with Mirage, a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8.
The cast and crew were present to promote the upcoming live-action Transformers movie including stars Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback & Tobe Nwigwe, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and director Steven Caple Jr.
This is just the beginning of the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts statue world tour. Other cities will get to see the statues in all their glory including Las Vegas, Chicago, New York City, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Sydney, Madrid, Berlin, London, Mexico City and Tokyo.
The statue captures the look of Optimus Prime in the upcoming film, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Caple Jr. and his team captured the look of G1 Optimus Prime while also adding some bells and whistles. He still has his iconic head with mask and chest plates along with the classic blue and red paint job. The leader of the Autobots is a popular figure in pop culture since the ’80s, and the life-size statue is a tribute to fans from all over the world.
