I Got Slimed for Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2023
Nickelodeon is having its 36th annual Kids’ Choice Awards this Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California with hosts Nate Burleson and Charli D’Amelio. Guests at the event include Adam Sandler, who will be receiving the first-ever King of Comedy Award. As tradition dictates, he will be bombarded with the iconic Nickelodeon Slime.
When I was invited by Nickelodeon to experience what it’s like to receive the green gooey treatment, I couldn’t refuse. I embarked on an adventure at Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards Slime Event on Wednesday, March 2, and it was a fun-filled event with activities including a photo booth, portrait drawing, and getting Slimed.
There was a lot of testing to make sure the slime hits the intended targets for the actual show. The stage was one giant slime trap, and each section had a marker for the person who was getting slimed to stand on. There was the slime tank for getting dunked in, getting slimed inside a pit, and getting slimed at the center of the stage, just to name a few.
When the moment finally came for us to be slimed, it was glorious and very cold. It’s as if wave after wave of water came crashing upon us. As for the taste of the slime, there wasn’t a strong smell and it was more akin to sugary water. The aftermath was a mess, and I was dripping all over from head to toe.
There was the option of wearing a poncho, but I wanted to go all out, but as a result, my entire clothing was drenched. Cleaning up the mess was convenient thanks to the venue having changing rooms and showers, and I did bring extra clothes.
