Battle Chasers is a bestselling comic book series from Joe Madureira back when it debuted in 1998. Fans were left hanging with issue #9, which ended in a cliffhanger and was released way back in 2001. It’s been years, but fans had to chance to revisit the world in Battle Chasers: Nightwar, a 2017 video game that featured all the characters fans know and love. Today, Image Comics has announced that the series will be continuing, with issue #10 coming to store shelves in June.

Battle Chasers recently saw a surge in popularity in 2019 with the anthology trade paperback seeing a spike in sales. It has been reprinted many times, and Image Comics has decided to go forward with a new story arc for the series.

The new issue will feature cover art by Joe Madureira and page art by Ludo Lullabi and will be published by Image Comics. Battle Chasers #10 will have variant covers by J. Scott Campbell, Humberto Ramos, Chris Bachalo, Skottie Young, and Mirka Andolfo.

“I’ve been really moved over the years by the level of excitement Battle Chasers still generates decades after its original release,” said Madureira tells Gizmodo. “With the success of the Battle Chasers game ‘Nightwar’ and a TV show in the works, it felt like the perfect time to drop some new books. Working with these characters again has healed some part of my soul, and Ludo’s artwork is so incredible, I can’t wait for readers to get their hands on it.”
