What To See at Shaqtoberfest 2022, Shaq’s Halloween Event

During the Halloween season, Long Beach has been known for its Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor event which takes place inside and near the ship. This year, things are a bit different because Shaquille O’Neal has taken over the event, dubbing it Shaqtoberfest. Additionally, since Queen Mary is under repairs, there weren’t any experiences held inside.

Nerd Reactor attended the VIP night on October 2, 2022, with LVCRFT performing on stage and Shaquille attending. The event is now running until October 21, 2022.

Fans who went on the VIP night had the chance to see Shaq, who went from one area to the next to play some games and experience attractions as he is surrounded by a camera crew and fans. The NBA superstar interacted with fans and even played with a few of them in games including tossing the severed head into a basket and more.

Shipwreck Graveyard

Right after the entrance of Shaqtoberfest, there is Shipwreck Graveyard, an area filled with fog and the undead roaming around. It’s one of the introductions to the rest of the event, and it is designed after a boardwalk and fishing village.

Attractions

Shaqtoberfest features mazes including Diesel’s Pumpkin Patch, Lost City Boardwalk, Deadman’s Wharf, and Pirate’s Cove.

Our personal favorite of the mazes is the Pumpkin Patch, which takes place mainly outdoors and includes a lot of haystacks all around. There’s even a jumping area right after the maze’s entrance for those wanting to jump the night away.

Lost City Boardwalk is the least scary since it’s mainly a bunch of walls attached together with some scare actors sprinkled throughout.

Deadman’s Wharf and Pirate’s Cove both take guests on sea adventures with the former featuring a lighthouse keeper and fisherman and the latter featuring pirates. Pirate’s Cove has a secret pirate lair where guests can get a shot of rum punch.

Carnival fans are in for a treat since there is Midway Madness including a funhouse, rides, games and carnival food. For rides, there is the Gravitron, carousel, Ferris wheel, and a waltzer.
