The Super Mario Bros. Movie Teaser Trailer: Jack Black Is Fiery as Bowser

Super Mario Bros. is one of the most popular video game franchises, and it has spawned animated series and even a live-action film starring Bob Hoskins (Hook) and John Leguizamo (Spawn). Next year fans will get to experience the animated film from Nintendo, Universal Pictures and Illumination with The Super Mario Bros. Movie. This week we saw the release of the poster, and today during the Nintendo Direct, the teaser trailer was unveiled online.

The trailer shows off a kingdom inhabited by penguins, and they are faced with the threat of Bowser, king of the Koopas. It greatly captures the might of the villain including flames and the dastardly voice of Jack Black. He’s a great fit for the giant villain, and we can’t wait to see what the character will be up to when the movie comes out.

We also hear in the teaser trailer Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, who gives a squeaky and exciting performance. As for Chris Pratt as Mario, the verdict is still out, and hopefully, his voice will grow on us.
