D23 Expo: Marvel Studios Goes Grindhouse with the Teaser Trailer for Werewolf by Night

Werewolf by Night

You might know Michael Giacchino as the composer of such films as Up, Star Trek, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story but in October, you’ll discover Michael Giacchino as director. In his directorial debut, Giacchino brings us something that we’ve never seen before in the MCU. I know we may sound like a broken record saying this, but it’s especially true with Werewolf by Night.

During Saturday’s Walt Disney Studios – Lucasfilm & Marvel Studios Presentation at D23 Expo 2022, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige took to the stage to share a ton of brand new stuff as the MCU dives deeper into The Multiverse Saga.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the source material, Werewolf by Night follows a lycanthrope superhero who fights crime using the abilities given to him by his cursed bloodline.

As you can see, Halloween special is reminiscent of grindhouse-style horror films from the 70s. Think of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse film from 2017. Not to mention, the film looks to be Marvel Studios’ most violent and bloodiest piece of entertainment yet. I mean a chopped-off arm and all that blood splatter. I guess Marvel Studios is getting ready to provide more adult-oriented programming with Deadpool 3 and Daredevil Born Again on the horizon.

Werewolf by Night hits Disney+ on October 7th.
