Disney has been producing live-action versions of its classic films like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King. Next, fans can look forward to the live-action version of The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey (grown-ish). During D23 Expo 2022, director Rob Marshall teased what fans can expect from the film with Disney releasing the teaser trailer featuring the beautiful voice of Bailey as the title character. Exclusive to D23 Expo audiences was the whole “Part of Your World” scene that shows off the actress’ performance and the special effects.

The “Part of Your World” scene follows Ariel as she sings inside her grotto, longing for a life on land with legs. It really shows off Bailey’s singing voice and the taste of the underwater visuals, especially the flowing, CG-like hair. It captured the original animated film’s scene while also having the actor having her own take on the song.
