Audeze’s Pro MM-500 Headphones Now Available for $1,699

Manny Marroquin is an 11-time Grammy Award winner who has worked with many music artists including 2Pac, Rihanna, John Mayer, Meghan Trainor, Thirty Second to Mars, Ed Sheeran and more. With these famous artists, the audio has to be of high quality. The audio mixing engineer has teamed up with Audeze, a headphone company utilizing planar magnetic technology, on the MM-500 professional headphones.

The MM-500 headphones launched this week. The pair is lighter than the Audeze LCD-X and was used to mix Kendrick Lamar’s album “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers” at Marroquin’s Larrabee Studios.

Marroquin also used the headphones to finish mixing a track for DJ Khaled’s 2019 “Father of Asahd” album in the Bahamas in his hotel room, which won a Grammy.

We had the chance to demo the MM-500 headphones during its launch event at Larrabee Studios and listened to some of the tracks mixed by Marroquin. The audio is crystal clear with each instrument sounding distinct, and we can see why Marroquin used it to hear studio-quality audio.

The over-ear, open-back MM-500 headphones feature 90mm planar magnetic transducers and weigh about a pound.

Since it’s a high-end professional pair of headphones, it’s on the pricier side with a $1,699 price tag. You can check it out on the Audeze MM-500 page.
