Trailers Drop for Lucasfilm’s Andor, Pixar’s Cars Series, Netflix’s Lost Ollie and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

The streaming companies have plenty of projects up their sleeves. This week, Disney+ and Lucasfilm dropped the new trailer for Andor, Pixar released the trailer for the Car series, and Netflix released the trailers for Lost Ollie and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Lost Ollie

Lost Ollie is like a live-action Toy Story with Jonathan Groff (Frozen, Mindhunters) as the voice of Ollie. The limited series contains 4 episodes, each around 45 minutes. It will be released on August 24, 2022.

Joining Groff are Mary J. Blige, Tim Blake Nelson, Gina Rodriguez, Jake Johnson, and Kesler Talbot.

Shannon Tindle is the series creator, writer and executive producer. Peter Ramsey is the director and executive producer. It’s produced by executive producers Shawn Levy and Josh Barry for 21 Laps Entertainment along with Emily Morris as co-executive producer. Brandon Oldenburg and Lampton Enochs also executive produce.

Synopsis: Lost Ollie is an epic adventure about a lost toy who braves the many dangers of childhood as he searches the countryside to reunite with the boy who lost him; and the story of the boy who lost more than a best friend. It’s a heartwarming tale for the child in us all, remembering those special souls that we’ve lost but who forever changed our lives. The four-part limited series was inspired by the book Ollie’s Odyssey by renowned author and illustrator William Joyce.

Disney and Pixar’s Cars on the Road

During Disney+ Day, Disney and Pixar released the trailer for Cars on the Road, an animated series that’s coming to the Disney streaming service on September 3, 2022.

Synopsis: The Disney+ Original series follows Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and his best friend Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country road trip to meet up with Mater’s sister. “The series is a romp across the country with Lightning McQueen and Mater,” says director Steve Purcell. “Like any real road trip, every day is a new mini-adventure with unexpected twists and turns.”

“Cars on the Road” is produced by Marc Sondheimer. The series’ episodes are directed by Steve Purcell (Eps 1, 2, 8), Bobby Podesta (Eps 5, 6, 9) and Brian Fee (Eps 3, 4, 7). Composer Jake Monaco created the score for all nine episodes.

Disney+ Day will be back on Thursday, September 8, 2022, leading into D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA from September 9-11.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Netflix released a new trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which is slated to be released in September 2022.

Logline: In a dystopia riddled with corruption and cybernetic implants, a talented but reckless street kid strives to become an edgerunner: a mercenary outlaw.

CD Projekt Red is producing with Studio Trigger as the animation studio. The series contains 10 episodes, each around 30 minutes.

Rafał Jaki (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher: Ronin) is the showrunner and executive producer, with Satoru Homma, Bartosz Sztybor and Saya Elder serving as producers.

Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare) will direct the series along with creative director Hiromi Wakabayashi (Kill la Kill), character designer and animation director Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia, BNA: Brand New Animal), and the adapted screenplay by Yoshiki Usa (GRIDMAN UNIVERSE series, Promare) and Masahiko Otsuka (Star Wars: Visions ‘The Elder’). The original score will be composed by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill series).


Yesterday, Disney+ released the new trailer and key art for Andor, which will have 12 episodes for the first season. The series will premiere on the Disney streaming service on Wednesday, September 21 with three episodes right off the bat.

Synopsis: The “Andor” series explores a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Tony Gilroy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is also the creator and showrunner.
