Dungeons & Dragons is a popular tabletop RPG that has spawned the hit live-roleplaying series Critical Role and its animated Prime Video series, The Legend of Vox Machina. Additionally, there was the 2000 film starring Jeremy Irons and Marlon Wayans (but we don’t have to talk about that movie). Paramount Pictures is taking a crack at the film adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. During San Diego Comic-Con, the official trailer was released along with a pop-up tavern that had guests feeling like they were part of the D&D universe complete with a dragon terrorizing the festivities.

The Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Tavern Experience descended upon San Diego Comic-Con. The tavern is a collaboration between Paramount Pictures and eOne. The exterior captures a medieval fantasy tavern.

Once inside, there’s a hallway lined up with statues of creatures from the Dungeons & Dragons universe like the Beholder and the Mimic.

Guests got the chance to get The Dungeons & Dragons mug and Boss Logic-designed poster. Quincy’s Tavern led the drink recipe direction for the tavern’s Dragon Brew (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).

During the immersive experience, guests got to see a dragon flying and attacking the tavern, complete with a giant screen to display the dragon and special effects to emulate a dragon attack. Smoke filled the room with lights flickering on the ceiling above.

There are also photo opportunities spread throughout and tables for drinking and chatting with friends and patrons.
