Jurassic World: Dominion is the latest chapter in the Jurassic World series, and it’s the biggest one yet with the return of fan favorites like Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm, Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant, and Laura Dern as Dr. Ellie Sattler. In the third film, the dinosaurs and humans are now living together, and dinosaur fans will be happy to see new ones being introduced. One of the people trying to prevent chaos is Dr. Ian Malcolm, and Goldblum talks about the Jurassic World: Dominion cast, dinosaurs, and Easter eggs.

In Jurassic World: Dominion, Goldblum’s screentime has increased when compared to the other Jurassic World films. The actor discusses his wonderful time with the returning and new cast members.

“What do I care about the size of a part, you know?” Goldblum tells Nerd Reactor. “I love that script by Emily Carmichael and Colin Trevorrow and getting together with the returning champions: the great Laura Dern and the great Sam Neill. And speaking of which, the great BD Wong. He’s from the very first. I think he’s been in more movies than anybody of these. He’s Mr. Jurassic Park.”

“Then from the last couple of movies, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and Isabella Sermon, Omar Sy, Justice Smith, and Danielle Pineda,” he continued. “And the new characters off the top of my head, DeWanda Wise, who creates a spectacular iconic character immediately; Mamoudou Athie; and Campbell Scott and Dejan Lachman. Do you know Dichen Lachman. Oh, she’s wonderful. Did you see her in that series? Severance? She’s great. Anyway, it was a thrill to be with the old and the new. And the whole rhubarb pie of, of ingredients.”

Fan-favorite dinosaurs are back in the film along with new ones like the big baddie Giganotosaurus and the Therizinosaurus.

“John Nolan was the guy in charge of the creature shop,” the actor said. “And Colin Trevorrow had a vision for this where he said, ‘You know, I love that CGI stuff, but as few tennis balls as possible. I don’t want to paint it in later. Let’s make all the dinosaurs. And there are more dinosaurs and bigger dinosaurs and more fantastical, real true to science. From what I understand, dinosaurs with red feathers and long claws and all sorts of things. And so they’re these great big dinosaurs for us to marvel at and to also try to survive. We’re right there in our space. And they were spectacular, and they were true, they seem real, and they were scary and amazing.”

There are many Easter egg moments in the film that pays homage to the original film.

“There is a moment in this movie that’s kind of clever,” Goldblum said. “But I think Colin put several of them in that sort of our quotes or homages to, in a little way, to something that may have happened before. Like this moment that DeWanda Wise and I have where something happens, that may allude to that original moment where I had a wardrobe malfunction of sorts. So look for that. It’s quick, and it’s subtle. You may miss it, but there’s something there.”
