The Russo Brothers have been working with Chris Evans on many Marvel films since Captain America: The Winter Soldier. With Avengers: Endgame being the closing of Steve Rogers’ story, would the actor and directors ever team up again? The answer is yes with Netflix’s The Gray Man. A new clip for the film is now available during Geeked Week, and it features Chris Evans as the antagonist going up against Ryan Gosling’s titular character. You can check out the clip below.

The Russo brothers wanted to work with Evans again, but for The Gray Man, they wanted his character to be the polar opposite of Captain America, everything that Captain America is, and everything that he represents.

“There is a character in The Gray Man called Lloyd Hanson that is the polar opposite [of Captain America],” Anthony Russo said during the Geeked Week preview event in Los Angeles that Nerd Reactor attended. “It’s as far away as you can get. So this movie is designed as a two-hander, a mano-a-mano action film between Chris Evans as Lloyd Hanson and Ryan Gosling as the Gray Man. And it was an immense pleasure. They’re supported by an amazing ensemble, including Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, and many others.”

“You’ve seen what we can do when we sort of play in the fantasy realm with Marvel movies,” the director continued. “But this movie is set in the real world. And this is a big swing at the spy genre that Netflix was very game to take. And we’re very proud of the results.”
