Netflix’s Live-Action Resident Evil Release Date Announced, Teases Bloody Promo Art

Netflix isn’t new to the realm of Resident Evil since it released Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness on its streaming platform. It’s currently working on the live-action Resident Evil series starring Lance Reddick (John Wick films) as Albert Wesker. Today, the streaming company has announced that the series will be released globally on July 14, 2022. To mark the occasion, three teaser posters have been released featuring bloody designs.

For the live-action Resident Evil series, don’t expect a close adaptation of the games since it will be following new stories with new characters set in the future.

About the Resident Evil Series

Resident Evil Logline: Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.

The series stars Lance Reddick as Alber Wesker, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, and Paola Nuñez. Joining them are Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti and Turlough Convery.

Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) serves as the showrunner, executive producer and writer. He is joined by executive producer and writer Mary Leah Sutton. Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben of Constantin Film also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Constantin Film CEO Martin Moszkowicz.

The Resident Evil series will contain 8 one-hour episodes and will launch globally on Netflix on July 14, 2022.
