New The Walking Dead Spin-off Series To Star Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan

The Walking Dead is a post-apocalyptic zombie series that’s based on the comic book series of the same name, and it is currently on its 11th season. Two of the prominent characters from the series, Maggie and Negan, will be having their own spin-off series. Today, AMC Networks announced that Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be starring in Isle of the Dead. The two characters have a distrust of each other. Will they figure out a way to work together as they head to New York’s Manhattan island?

Synopsis: Isle of the Dead envisions the popular Maggie and Negan characters traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.

The first season will consist of six episodes. Attached as the showrunner and executive producer is Eli Jorne, who has been a writer and co-executive producer on many seasons of The Walking Dead. Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple will be overseeing the series. Cohan and Morgan join Jorne as executive producers.

Isle of the Dead will premiere in 2023 on AMC and AMC+.
