Chris Pratt Is Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy Is Peach in Upcoming Super Mario Bros. Animated Film

Super Mario is one of the biggest video game franchises in the world, and it has spawned many video games, animated series, a live-action movie starring Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo, and more. Nintendo and Illumination are teaming up to give us the feature-length animated film, Super Mario Bros, coming during the Holiday 2022. Today, the voice actors have been announced including Chris Pratt as Mario and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach.

Joining Chris Pratt as Mario and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach are Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike and surprise cameos from Charles Martinet (known as the voice of Mario, Wario, Luigi, Waluigi, Baby Luigi, Baby Mario).

The film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic (Teen Titans Go!, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies) from a script by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Minions: The Rise of Gru.). It’s produced by Chris Meledandri and Shigeru Miyamoto.

Universal Pictures is releasing Super Mario Bros. in U.S. theaters on December 21, 2022.

The film is co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo. Universal Studios and Nintendo are both teaming up for Super Nintendo World expansions at Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Studios Singapore, and Universal Orlando Resort. Construction is currently in progress at Universal Studios Hollywood. The first Super Nintendo World debuted at Universal Studios Japan.
