The Matrix Resurrections Trailer Has Arrived Online

The Matrix Resurrections title was revealed during CinemaCon 2021, and during the event, the crowd filled with theater owners and managers had the chance to watch the debut trailer of the latest entry in the popular sci-fi franchise. Today, Warner Bros. has finally released the trailer for The Matrix Resurrections, and it features the return of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss as Neo and Trinity, respectively, and they will embark on another crazy adventure.

There’s a lot to take in from the trailer, and one of the things to notice is the music used. “White Rabbit” by Jefferson Airplane is a very fitting song choice since The Matrix has referenced and used themes from Alice in Wonderland. The children’s book is even featured in the trailer.

There’s also Yahya Abdul-Mateen II playing a character similar to Morpheus. Is he Morpheus 2.0? Is he a completely new character? Or maybe Morpheus is inside The Matrix and has used a younger digital avatar.

About the Matrix Resurrections

Synopsis: The Matrix Resurrections is a continuation of the story established in the first MATRIX film. It reunites Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss as cinematic icons Neo & Trinity in an expansion of their story that ventures back into the Matrix and even deeper down the rabbit hole. A mind-bending new adventure with action and epic scale, it’s set in a familiar yet even more provocative world where reality is more subjective than ever and all that’s required to see the truth is to free your mind.

The film is directed by Lana Wachowski and written by Lana Wachowski & David Mitchell & Aleksander Hemon. Joining Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Christina Ricci, Telma Hopkins, Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The Matrix Resurrections hits theaters and HBO Max on December 22, 2021. HBO Max will have the film for 31 days from theatrical release in 4K UHD, HDR 10, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos (English Only) on supported devices. It will be released internationally starting on December 15, 2021.
