Netflix’s Midnight Mass Trailer: From the Haunting of Hill House Creator

Mike Flanagan has been on a roll with Netflix and the horror genre with series like The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. He’ll be back again, and this time it will be outside of The Haunting series. Midnight Mass is an upcoming Netflix series set on an isolated island following a small community, which is perfect for a horror series. Netflix has dropped the trailer today, giving us a glimpse on how terrifying this world can get. In addition, it was announced that the series will premiere later this month.

We get a creepy version of Keane’s “Somewhere Only We Know,” which fits nicely with the dark themes in the trailer. Fans of FX’s Legion will be happy to see Hamish Linklater as a priest. He played Clark DeBussy, a Division 3 agent responsible for tracking mutants.

About Midnight Mass

MIDNIGHT MASS tells the tale of a small, isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater). When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community – but do these miracles come at a price?

Created and directed by Flanagan, the seven-episode limited series also stars Kate Siegel, Rahul Abburi, Crystal Balint, Matt Biedel, Alex Essoe, Annarah Cymone, Annabeth Gish, Rahul Kohli, Kristin Lehman, Robert Longstreet, Igby Rigney, Samantha Sloyan, Henry Thomas, and Michael Trucco. The series is executive produced by Flanagan and Trevor Macy for Intrepid Pictures.

The series premieres on Netflix on September 24, 2021.
