Fear Street Part 2: 1978 trailer and scene pay homage to Friday the 13th

Fear Street is an anthology trilogy based on R.L. Stines books that spans different eras, and this week Netflix has been promoting the second film, Fear Street Part 2: 1978, with a new trailer and a clip. The promotional videos capture the summer camp horror movie vibe and definitely pays homage to classic horror films like Friday the 13th.

About FEAR STREET PART 2: 1978 – Shadyside, 1978. School’s out for summer and the activities at Camp Nightwing are about to begin. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun in the sun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.

The Fear Street Trilogy is directed by Leigh Janiak and executive produced by Kori Adelson, Timothy M. Bourne, Leigh Janiak, Yvonne M. Bernard, Joan Waricha, and Jane Stine. It’s produced by Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready. Kori Adelson helped produced 1666 and is the EP on 1994 and 1978.

Phil Graziadei & Leigh Janiak wrote Part 1: 1994, Zak Olkewicz and Leigh Janiak did Part 2: 1978, and Phil Graziadei & Leigh Janiak and Kate Trefry wrote Part 3: 1666.

The cast of Fear Street Part 2: 1978 includes Sadie Sink, Emily Rudd, Ryan Simpkins, McCabe Slye, Ted Sutherland, Jordana Spiro, Gillian Jacobs, Kiana Madeira, Benjamin Flores Jr, Ashley Zukerman, Olivia Scott Welch, Chiara Aurelia, and Jordyn DiNatale.

Fear Street Part 1: 1994 is now available on Netflix. Fear Street Part 2: 1978 is coming out on Friday, July 9. Fear Street Part 3: 1666 will be available on July 16.
