The Disneyland Resort has reopened on April 30, 2021 after being closed for over a year, and it was a momentous occasion where some even got emotional and teared up. For now, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are open to California residents, and they’ll need reservations and valid tickets. The excitement doesn’t end there. Park-goers will have the chance to experience the upcoming Avengers Campus, the ultimate destination for Marvel fans. Here are 10 things we know about Avengers Campus.

1. Avengers Campus Meaning

Marvel is known for its organization names being abbreviated like SWORD (The Sentient Weapon Observation and Response Division) and SHIELD (The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division). Avengers Campus is no different, and it stands for Centralized Assembly Mobilized to Prepare, Unite, and Safeguard.

2. When Does Avengers Campus Open?

Disney first announced the official Avengers Campus name at D23 Expo 2019, and it was going to be built in Disney California Adventure, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland. Disney California Adventure was initially going to launch the new Marvel land on July 18, 2020, but it was delayed. Marvel fans and park-goers can now expect to experience the world on June 4, 2021.

3. Replacing A Bug’s Land

The Disneyland Resort has been updating its attractions as well as replacing rides. One example is The Twilight Zone The Tower of Tower being replaced by Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout. It was met with criticism, but the new ride attracted new fans. For Avengers Campus, it is taking over the area that used to be A Bug’s Land, and the location fits since it would be near the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction.

4. It’s the Multiverse!

Tony Stark made the ultimate sacrifice in the events of Avengers Endgame when he used the Infinity Gauntlet to snap Thanos and his army into ash. In Avengers Campus, it will be in a different universe where the Blip was never a thing. Thank goodness for the multiverse.

5. Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure

Spider-Man fans will get to feel like the wallcrawler in the Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure attraction, the first time a Spider-Man ride is available at a Disney park. As with any popular ride, the line will be long. To make the queue line entertaining, it will have some fun visuals.

The WEB (Worldwide Engineering Brigade) is an organization, and it will let you test out the latest ride, the WEB Slinger vehicle, and the latest tech, the Spider-Bots. The problem is that the tiny bots are glitching and replicating, and they have run amok at Avengers Campus. You’ll be tasked with capturing Spider-Bots in an attraction that’s a mixture of practical sets and virtual experiences.

6. Avengers Quinjet Experience

Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure will be joined by The Avengers Quinjet Experience, but attendees will have to wait for that one in Phase 2. Guests/recruits will board the Quinjet and will visit Wakanda, but it won’t be a smooth ride since the ship will be attacked. It’ll be up to you and the Avengers to take down the army of baddies.
