Sonic the Hedgehog is redesigned in new trailer

Sonic the Hedgehog movie

When the first trailer was released for the Sonic the Hedgehog film, there were fans who were upset with the design of the titular character. With the design of Sonic out, it became a meme. Director Jeff Fowler took it to heart and said that the team will be going back to the drawing board to redesign the little speedster. Fast-forward to today, and Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer and poster showing off the new design that captures the look of his video game counterpart.

With the new trailer and poster out, Sonic has bigger eyes and shorter legs and arms. Check it out below!

With the new trailer, we get to see more of Jim Carrey as the evil Dr. Robotnik. He’s definitely an inspired choice, and it should be interesting to see him clash with Sonic on the big screen.

Synopsis: Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.

The film is directed by Jeff Fowler from a script by Pat Casey and Josh Miller.

Sonic the Hedgehog hits theaters on February 14, 2019.
