New NSFW trailer for The Witcher is here, plus December 20 release date

During Lucca Comics and Games convention in Lucca, Italy, Netflix dropped a new NSFW trailer for The Witcher. It features everything a Witcher fan can want including sex, monsters, Geralt’s gravely voice, and beautiful and dark worlds. Henry Cavill plays Geralt of Rivia, and in the trailer, viewers can get a sense of how the world treats the titular character. In addition, Netflix has also announced that the series will premiere on December 20, 2019. Nothing says Christmas celebration like watching a mutant slay monsters and baddies.

During The Witcher panel at Lucca Comics and Games, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed a new trailer. She was joined by Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Freya Alan (Ciri). In the video, we hear Cavill’s voice, and he delivers a raspy and calm voice, which should make fans of The Witcher games excited.

Synopsis: Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, THE WITCHER is an epic tale of fate and family. The story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.

Cavill, Chalotra, and Alan are joined by Jodhi May (Game of Thrones, Genius) as Calanthe, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson (Fortitude) as Eist, Adam Levy (Knightfall, Snatch) as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring (Ripper Street, Kill List) as Tissaia), Mimi Ndiweni (Black Earth Rising) as Fringilla, Therica Wilson-Read (Profile) as Sabrina, and Emma Appleton (The End of The F**king World) as Renfri, Eamon Farren (The ABC Murders, Twin Peaks) as Cahir, Joey Batey (Knightfall, Strike) as Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen (House of Cards, Sherlock) as Stregobor, Royce Pierreson (Wanderlust, Judy) as Istredd, Maciej Musiał (1983) as Sir Lazlo, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte (Jamillah & Aladdin, Dickensian) as Dara, and Anna Shaffer (Harry Potter) as Triss.

The Witcher will contain eight episodes and will premiere globally on Netflix on December 20, 2019.
