Watch a clip from the upcoming Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy in Space

Back in 2018, fan-favorite “Bee and PuppyCat” announced a brand new series would be arriving. And after two years of waiting, it’s nearly time for the new show to premiere. “Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy In Space” will hold a special screening of one of its newest episodes that will premiere at this year’s Ottawa International Animation Festival.

In the new series, all the beloved characters will return to a world that is now expansive and possibly dangerous. “Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy in Space” will see the pair go up against problems that are both big and small and totally weird, all while trying to make sure that their rent is paid on time. The new series will now be longer half-hour episodes, along with an extended season.

In the first episode titled “Little Fingers,” PuppyCat spends $500 on Pretty Patrick’s mobile app game, which leads to chaos. To cover the absurd costs, he and Bee take a job on the planet of wiggly worms, who are in desperate need to have their sodas opened. You can watch a clip from the episode down below.

Bee and PuppyCat have been a fan-favorite since its debut, which has resulted in the original two-part pilot being watched on YouTube for more than 40 million minutes. 18,000 fans contributed to the Kickstarter campaign for a series in 2014, which made it one of the most-backed animation projects on Kickstarter. Since then, over the years, Bee and PuppyCat have grown into a pop culture phenomenon, giving birth to cookbooks, plush toys, and many more.

Bee and PuppyCat is created by animator and comic book artist Natasha Allegri, who has also worked on other popular series such as “Over the Garden Wall,” “Cannon Busters,” and “Adventure Time.” The series is being Co-produced by Frederator Studios, known for “Castlevania,” “Adventure Time,” and “The Fairly OddParents,” and Tokyo-based OLM, Inc.
