Get a behind-the-scenes look at Dr. Stone anime series

Dr. Stone is the latest manga/anime that has gained a tremendous amount of popularity since it was first released in 2017. Since then it has sold more than 480,000 volumes in Japan alone and an anime series that is currently animated by TMS studios in Tokyo. Today, Crunchyroll is premiering a new documentary that will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Dr.Stone.

Running at just over 25 minutes, the documentary, which is filmed onsite at TMS studios in Japan, features creative producer Shusuke Katagiri and director Shinya Lino. The doc follows the pair as they work tirelessly to adapt the hit manga into an animated series. Fans will be able to learn more about the creative process that Katagiri-san and Lino-san take to adapt the hit series.

Dr. Stone, a weekly Shonen Jump manga title, is written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. It is set a few thousand years into the future after a cataclysmic event has petrified the entire world’s population. The series follows two main characters who have freed themselves from their petrified state, Senku Ishigami and Taiju Oki. The two embark on a journey to rebuild civilization, pitting science versus might. 

The documentary premiered today and will be available to watch in its entire 25-minute runtime on Crunchyroll’s YouTube channel and will be available to stream on the Crunchyroll platform next week. New episodes of the Dr. Stone anime series will premiere every Friday morning on Crunchyroll.
