D23 Expo 2019 was a big event for Disney fans, and during the Disney+ panel, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made some huge announcements for the streaming service’s upcoming slate. He announced three new projects like Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight, and updates for shows like Loki, WandaVision, and Hawkeye. One of the big announcements is Emily VanCamp reprising her role as Sharon Carter in the upcoming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series.

Feige brought actors Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, and Wyatt Russell on stage. The actors weren’t allowed to say much, and VanCamp joked about wanting to know more.

“Where has Sharon Carter been?” Feige asked VanCamp.

“You tell me!,” VanCamp replied on the Hall D23 stage. “You tell me, Kevin. I’m excited to know. It’s going to be an epic adventure.”

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame and will follow Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s adventures. It should be an interesting dynamic with the inclusion of Sharon Carter, who had a romantic relationship with Rogers. In Endgame, Steve Rogers traveled to the past to be with Peggy Carter. So what will life be like without the legend? Will his friends move on and try to pick up the pieces? We’ll find out soon enough.

Also during D23 Expo was the reveal of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier poster. It features the two titular characters standing side by side, ready to take on the world.

The 6-episode limited series will be written by Malcolm Spellman and Derek Kolstad with Kari Skogland directing. It stars Anthony Mackie as Falcon and Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, and newcomer Wyatt Russell as John Walker. Filming will begin in October 2019, and it’s expected to premiere on Disney+ in late 2020.
