Legion showrunner plans to pitch Doctor Doom movie to Marvel Studios

Fox has been producing a lot of different comic book movies and series for X-Men and Fantastic Four, but with Disney buying out Fox, the mutants and the Fantastic Four will be headed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the films that was in the works was the Doctor Doom movie by Noah Hawley, the showrunner for FX’s Legion starring Dan Stevens. With Fox no longer producing Marvel films and shows, will fans still get a Doctor Doom movie?

Hawley talks about how he still has plans on trying to get the Victor Von Doom movie made through Marvel Studios. But before that, he’s going to relax.

“I mean, where it stands is now that the movie is done and Legion is done,” Hawley tells Deadline. “And I’ve taken a little time off because someone told me there was this word ‘vacation,’ which means you don’t work, which sounded really interesting to me. But you know, I need to circle back to them and announce that I would love to make it and figure out if that’s something that is possible. Whether or not they already have a plan in place for what to do with those characters or whether they’re open to my kind of vision for what to do with those characters. But it’s sort of on me right now to go push them, which I will do as soon as I come up for air.”

So what was Hawley’s vision for Doctor Doom? He revealed that it was going to be a geopolitical thriller and what it’s like to be a king of a fictional Eastern European country. The film would follow a female journalist being invited to Latveria, and she would be a messenger for him to the world, according to THR.

We’ve had many Fantastic Four films released, but we never really got a badass Doctor Doom. With Marvel Studios planning on a Fantastic Four project, we may finally get a worthy villain. Then again, the studio might do things differently, similar to how it has changed things up for Spider-Man.
