The Division 2 to get free new missions, weapons, and gear this month

The Division 2

Ubisoft has plans to make fans invested in The Division 2 with free content through the year including the previously released Operation Dark Hours Raid. This month, another free content is coming titled “Episode 1 – D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions.” It will include new missions, weapons, and gear, and it will be available starting July 23rd. There’s even going to be a new setting for Operation Dark Hours for those who had a tough time with the Normal setting.

“Episode 1 – D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions” will take players outside the streets of Washington D.C. The story continues after the final boss fight at Tidal Basin with new locations, two new main missions and a new experience involving a lost convoy. Check out the details for the missions below:

  • Camp White Oak: Division Agents stage a well-planned attack into the presidential compound, as they seek to bring the now-traitor President Andrew Ellis to justice.
  • Manning National Zoo: Emeline Shaw, leader of the Outcasts, fled after her defeat in D.C. and is now held up at the Zoo regaining strength. Agents are on the hunt to eliminate Shaw, nipping the Outcasts’ reawakening in the bud.

Expeditions is a new experience where players scout Kenly College in order to find a lost military convoy filled with supplies and any surviving members. The experience will be split into three different wings, with each having a certain theme and tone. It will be released on a week-by-week basis, and completing all three will give players access to a treasure room.

Here’s the list of new weapons and gear:

  • One exotic weapon: Diamondback Rifle
  • One exotic gear: BTSU Datagloves
  • Two weapons: Stoner LMG and Carbine 7
  • Classified Assignments: Agents can take on two new classified assignments in Washington’s Central Aquarium and NSA Site B13 (Exclusive only to Year 1 Pass holders).

Other updates include a new Discovery Difficulty setting for the Operation Dark Hours Raid along with being able to search for players in matchmaking. Previously, you had to round up your friends, but that could prove tough if you don’t have many friends playing the mode. The exotic loots from the mode will only be available in Normal difficulty, but there will be other rewards available as well.

Players will get to have crafting improvements, the ability to craft gear up to Gear Score 500 and share blueprints across characters, weapons that can be recalibrated, and more.

If you’re a Year 1 Pass holder, you’ll get early access to the content starting on July 23rd. It will then be available to all players on July 30th.
