Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown headed to PS4, Xbox One and PC this year

Hunt: Showdown

Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown is an intense online multiplayer first-person shooter and survival horror game that combines PvPvE. Teams of two are tasked with hunting and capturing a boss creature, and they will have to deal with creatures and other players to be the first to capture the prize and escape with it. Crytek and Deep Silver have announced today that the game will be coming to the Xbox One and PC on August 27, with the PlayStation 4 version coming in the Fall. It will be available in both physical and digital copies.

The game has been available in Early Access on Steam and Xbox Game Preview, and we’ve been enjoying the intense atmosphere and danger. This is a game that requires stealth and communication since you and a partner will have to navigate the map to find the bounty. Creatures will be in your way, so you’ll have to plan ahead on whether you want to face them head-on or sneak around. There’s a total of 10 players, either solo or in a team of 2, and they are also after the prize. To make things interesting, once the bounty is discovered, it will notify everyone. It soon becomes a game of cat and mouse and death as players from all over will be killing to capture the bounty. Oh, and when you die, it’s a permanent death for your character.

Crytek has been making changes to the game thanks to player feedback, and so far there have been 20 updates and patches since Early Access launched in February 2018. The updates included a new boss, a new map, two new times of day, additional AI, Quick Play, and more weapons. And those who have been playing the game in Early Access, they will receive an exclusive Legendary Weapon skin.

Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown will be available for $39.99, with Deep Silver handling North American distribution and Koch Media responsible for Europe and other territories.

“Developing a game alongside such a passionate community has been so rewarding. It has taken us in new directions, and really inspired us to put everything we have into Hunt,” said Lead Producer Fatih Özbayram. “Now the time has come for the full release, and we couldn’t be more excited. We won’t forget the support this community has given us.”

“Joining forces with Crytek for this amazing multiplayer game is exciting for everybody in the Koch Media family,” said Koch Media’s Head of Marketing Stephan Schmidt. “The proven track record of the team in the FPS genre and the unique approach to multiplayer gaming gives us confidence that Hunt not only fits perfectly in our broad line up, but also serves a strong need in the market for fresh ideas. The close cooperation of the team with the community ever since the first release fuel the motivation of our global Deep Silver teams, and we will support this title with all our experience in the retail market.”
