The series stars Henry Cavill (Justice League, Mission: Impossible – Fallout) as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allen as Ciri, and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer.

The showrunner and executive producer is Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s The Defenders, Umbrella Academy). Netflix presents an exclusive sneak peek at the highly-anticipated fantasy series, THE DARK CRYSTAL: AGE OF RESISTANCE, based on Jim Henson’s groundbreaking 1982 feature film, THE DARK CRYSTAL. In this stunning new prequel, three Gelfling discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power, and set out on an epic journey to ignite the fires of rebellion and save their world. Realized using classic puppetry with cutting edge visual effects, the cast and creators discuss all of your burning questions about bringing Thra to life.

The series is directed by Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) and executive produced by Leterrier, Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford. It’s co-executive produced by Jeffrey Addiss & Will Matthews, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, and Blanca Lista.

Voice actors include Taron Egerton (Rocketman, Kingsman) as Rian, Anya Taylor-Joy (Split) as Brea, and Nathalie Emmanuel (HBO’s “Game of Thrones”) as Deet. Together, they are the three Gelfling heroes.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will premiere on Netflix Friday, August 30, 2019.
