The Boys red-band trailer unleashes mayhem to the sounds of the Spice Girls

Mark your calendars because ‘The Boys’ is about to make its debut on Amazon Prime. This live-action adaptation of Garth Ennis’ comic book of the same name is developed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, whose latest comic book adaptation ‘Preacher’ has garnered positive reviews over its last three seasons.

To get fans excited for the upcoming show, Amazon has released a brand-new trailer, but this isn’t just any typical trailer, this is a red-band special, to show the amount of blood, gore, and foul language that will be filling up the show. Watch the trailer below.

The trailer shows off each member of ‘The Boys’ who are led by The Butcher, played by Karl Urban. The Boys have one job and one job only, and that’s to make sure that the world’s superheroes are put in line. The Boys takes place in a world where superheroes just don’t help people, and they also help themselves to every known vice we take part in. Whether that’s sex, drugs, or alcohol, superheroes know that they can do them at any time, without a care of any repercussions.

Amping up things a bit, the trailer lays out a lot of the action to the tunes of the Spice Girls, specifically their 1996 hit “Wannabe.” This joyous and playful tune creates the perfect contrast to the carnage and mayhem that The Boys unleashes on these careless and unrelenting superheroes.

The Boys hits Amazon Prime on July 26, 2019 and stars Karl Urban, Chace Crawford, Jennifer Esposito, Jack Quaid, and Elizabeth Shue. It is created by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen, and written by Garth Ennis.
