Under Armour and Mortal Kombat 11 team up for Sub-Zero shoe

Mortal Kombat 11 Under Armour Sub-Zero

Under Armour and New York Knicks’ Dennis Smith Jr. have teamed up with NetherRealm Studios to come out with a Mortal Kombat 11 shoe. The limited edition colorway will be inspired by Smith Jr’s favorite Mortal Kombat character, Sub-Zero, who was recently featured in a new gameplay trailer. (Sadly, he was the victim of yet another fatality.)

The UA Anatomix Spawn MK11 Sub-Zero colorway has a navy and blue upper that pays homage to Sub-Zero’s outfit. He has the power to be ice cold, and the frozen detailing is spread across the upper, lace keeper and translucent icy sole. The Mortal Kombat logo is featured on the shoe’s insole, tongue tab and aglets. The Under Armour logo has a glowing and frosty outline, another tip to Sub-Zero’s powers.

“When I’m playing, I imagine myself as Sub-Zero on the court, ice cold and always ready to compete,” Smith Jr. said. “This custom colorway of the UA Anatomix Spawn brings my love for Mortal Kombat and Sub-Zero to life, and I’m excited to share it with players who also share my same gaming passion.”

“Being a basketball fan myself, it’s exciting to partner with Under Armour and Dennis Smith Jr. for the limited-edition MK11 UA Spawn colorway,” said Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat. “We have an amazing community so it’s great working with such a well-known brand to bring this Sub-Zero themed sneaker to Mortal Kombat fans.”

The limited-edition UA Anatomix Spawn MK 11 Sub-Zero colorway will be released on Friday, April 26th. There will be a pop up experience for fans at BAIT in Los Angeles on April 24 at 7 p.m. PST. More details available @UANews and @MortalKombat.

Bosslogic, known for creating cool concept images of celebrities and characters, has partnered up with Under Armour and Warner Bros to create an image of Dennis Smith Jr as Sub-Zero.
