Thantasstic Voyage remix trailer shows Ant-Man’s plan to go inside Thanos’ rear

Thantasstic Voyage Thanos Ant-Man

Avengers: Infinity War ended with Thanos succeeding and wiping off half the population of the universe. A big question is how the Avengers are going to stop the Mad Titan in Avengers: Endgame. There’s a popular fan theory involving the team’s plan to defeat Thanos, and it’s rather silly. It has Ant-Man shrinking and entering the Mad Titan’s rear. Once inside, all he has to do to defeat the Mad Titan is to grow bigger, making the villain pop. Sounds easy enough. It soon became a meme, and now we have a remix trailer from Nerdist that brings that theory to life called Thantasstic Voyage.

The remix trailer mashes up footage from the 1966 sci-fi film, Fantastic Voyage, and the Marvel Studio films like Avengers: Infinity War. What we get is a look inside the plans of how Ant-Man is going to go inside Thanos’ rectum. The remix trailer does a hilarious job with making Avengers: Endgame look like it’s going in that direction.

Avengers: Endgame co-director Anthony Russo previously responded to the theory.

“Joe and I spent our entire lives as fans, so the idea that the audience can participate in these stories is important to us,” Anthony Russo tells Nerdist. “The idea that they’re out there using their own imaginations and creativity to think about where these characters can go, where these stories can go… it’s magnificent. Sometimes, you know, people will say things that’s kind of next door to something we’re doing, but oddly enough nobody ever, no one ever thinks of it exactly. There’s so much variation and so many odds in terms of how these things unfold that the specific narrative, nobody actually guesses that.”

Okay, so they’re not really saying whether there is any truth to the theory, but at least we still have this video.

Official Synopsis: The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from the screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. It stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Karen Gillan and Brie Larson.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26, 2019.
