James Woods upset over James Gunn returning for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3

Disney previously fired James Gunn from directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, and after some time and a change of heart, Disney decided to rehire him for the upcoming Marvel Studios project. It all started when his opponents dug up tweets where he made offensive jokes about pedophilia and rape several years ago. And now with Gunn back at the helm, actor James Woods isn’t too happy about the news.

Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn had met with Gunn many times to check in on him. After seeing the way Gunn handled the backlash from his controversial tweets and his public apology, Horn decided to bring the director back on board to directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Gunn was very appreciative of the decision and wrote a message showing his gratitude.

“I am tremendously grateful to every person out there who has supported me over the past few months,” Gunn said via his Twitter. “I am always learning and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be. I deeply appreciate Disney’s decision and I am excited to continue making films that investigate the ties of love that bind us all. I have been, and continue to be incredibly humbled by your love and support. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Love to you all.”

There are those who aren’t happy about the news, and you can bet the ones who dug up the tweets are pretty angry. In addition, James Woods isn’t too happy about Gunn being reinstated. He showed his annoyance by commenting about whether Roseanne got her show back. Roseanne’s show got canceled after she made a racial joke about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett resembling a Planet of the Apes character.

“Oh, and is @therealroseanne back on Roseanne, too? Oh, wait…,” Woods said.

Guardians of the Galaxy fans will have to wait some years for the third film to come out since Gunn still needs to start and finish work on The Suicide Squad sequel for Warner Bros.
