First Captain Marvel screening reactions are raving about Goose the cat

Captain Marvel Goose Cat

Captain Marvel is coming to theaters in March, and Disney and Marvel have already started an advance screening. Is the movie good? Is it bad? Well, one thing is for sure, many are head over heels with the cat.

Recently, Marvel Studios released a bunch of character posters including Captain Marvel, Nick Fury, and Agent Coulson. One cute poster featured a cat by the name of Goose. In the comics, Captain Marvel has a pet cat named Chewie that turns out to be a Flerken, an alien species. Well, Goose the Cat is the talk of the town according to Collider’s Steve Weintraub.

“Hearing Captain Marvel screened,” Weintraub tweeted. “After it ended everyone was talking about the cat. Stole the show.”

“Must. See. This. Movie. Stat,” Weintraub added. That sounds like he’s definitely excited about the film.

With Goose the Cat having its own poster, it’s definitely going to be a major player in the upcoming film. In the comics, the cat’s name is Chewie, and Rocket Raccoon once came after Captain Marvel’s pet. Will Goose be close to its comic book counterpart? Will it actually be an alien? We’ll find out soon enough.

The film is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and written by Anna Boden, Ryan Fleck, Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Jac Schaeffer from a story by Nicole Perlman, Joe Schrapnel and Anna Waterhouse. It stars Brie Larson  as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel), Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Lee Pace as Ronan, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Kenneth Mitchell  as Joseph Danvers, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel flies into theaters on March 8, 2019. After that, we’ll get the conclusion to the Avengers: Infinity War story with Avengers: Endgame hitting theaters on May 3, 2019. After that, Peter Parker travels to another country in Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5, 2019.
