King Ghidorah, Mothra, Rodan rage on in Godzilla: King of the Monsters character posters

The hype for Godzilla: King of the Monsters is in full swing again after the release of the second trailer. (You can check it out here.) Yesterday director Mike Dougherty has released three new character posters for King Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan, and they are looking marvelous.

King Ghidorah is a highly anticipated enemy in the film, and in the character poster, he is looking menacing with electricity flowing through his body and yellow being his main color of choice. Fighter jets can be seen flying around, and are they going to regret going up against the king.

Next up is Mothra, the giant butterfly-like kaiju (or Titans as they’re called in the movie.) Her wings are ridiculously huge, and with her going in the same direction as the helicopters, one can assume she’s on our side. The color turquoise is very fitting since it makes her look very majestic.

And then we have Rodan, the pterodactyl-like kaiju that is shown with smoke and heat emanating from its body. If you’ve seen the trailer, it looks as if the volcano is spewing Rodan out like a baby. How is the military expecting to stop this creature if it just came out of a volcano? Rodan’s main color in the poster is orange.

With the three character posters released, Godzilla fans are screaming with excitement.

Now the next step is for Warner Bros. to release these as wallpapers for computers or handheld devices and/or posters for purchasing.

Synopsis: Members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species-thought to be mere myths-rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters hits theaters on May 31, 2019.
