Marvel’s Spider-Man: Turf Wars DLC features Hammerhead

It’s a good time to be a Spider-Man fan, especially with the recent release of Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 and the live-action Venom film starring Tom Hardy. Soon fans will get to see Spider-Man and the gang on the big screen with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. If you have finished the PS4-exclusive game, there are more adventures to be had with The City That Never Sleep DLC series. The first chapter, The Heist, was released last month and featured the Black Cat. With the second chapter, Turf Wars, available now, fans will get to go toe-to-toe with Hammerhead.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Turf Wars was released on November 20th, and it features new missions, side quests and outfits.

The main mission has Spider-Man teaming up with Captain Yuri Watanabe as they try to take down the different gangs including Hammerhead. The main antagonist is raging war on the Dons of the Maggia crime family, and to help him achieve this, he has acquired weapons from Sable International. It will be a very personal battle for Yuri as her morality will be tested when she confronts Hammerhead.

Throughout the main Spider-Man game, it was fun watching Spider-Man interact with Yuri. In “Turf Wars”, things turn really dark, and their relationship becomes really fragile. We are given reasons on why things are so personal for Yuri, but we did wish it that aspect was fleshed out a bit more. Black Cat has taken a backseat in order to give Yuri more time to shine. Mary Jane is mostly in the background, helping Spider-Man from behind the scenes.

Screwball is back, and she’ll be giving Spider-Man grief once again. You’ll be tasked to perform different missions to help her gain more viewers for her stream. This time, Spider-Man has a plan to track her down.

“Turf Wars” has three new outfits including Iron Spider Armor from the comics, Spider-Armor MK I, and Spider-Clan Suit.

Overall, the new chapter is an entertaining addition to the DLC chapters. However, I did wish it was a bit longer so that we can get more scenes involving Hammerhead and Yuri.

The last chapter, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Silver Lining, will be available in December 2018.
