Deadpool 2 gets PG-13 Christmas version featuring Fred Savage

Deadpool is doing the unthinkable for the holiday season, and that is becoming a PG-13 film called Once Upon a Deadpool. Kids and adults will soon get to watch the wholesome version of Deadpool 2. Don’t worry, it’s for a good cause because for each ticket purchased, $1 will go to the Fudge Cancer charity. Even the charity has changed its name to become family-friendly for the holiday. Fox has released the teaser trailer for Once Upon a Deadpool featuring Fred Savage (The Wonder Years) being held captive by Deadpool.

“Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006,” Ryan Reynolds told Deadline. “I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said ‘Yes’ on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…”

New scenes for the film will pay homage to The Princess Bride, which Savage starred in.

Fred remarked, “While my participation in this film was anything but voluntary, I am happy to learn that Fudge Cancer will be the beneficiary of this shameless cash grab.”

Once Upon a Deadpool hits theaters from December 12 through December 24, 2018.
