SDCC: Dark times are coming in the new Crimes of Grindelwald trailer

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Poster #1

The wizarding world will never be the same again. During today’s jam-packed Hall H presentation, Warner Bros kicked off their presentation with the wizarding world of Harry Potter. In a very awesome stunt, the wristbands of Hall H lit up as Newt Scamander said the lumos spell while we’re in his briefcase. Yes, Hall H in Newt’s briefcase.

In addition to this, Johnny Depp’s Grindelwald took over the panel as he gave a rousing speech in full costume. Once again, the lit up wristbands were used as Grindelwald used his wand to light up the wristbands to make a point. Yet the one thing that people wanted to see is brand new footage. So premiering in Hall H for the first time is the brand new trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. Now, the trailer is live for all of you to see! Check it out.

The brand new trailer feels much darker to the other trailers that came before it. In a way, it has a very Empire Strikes Back vibe to it. Our beloved heroes will be in danger. The question is: Will any of them survive the end of this film? In fact, the biggest question is: Will Jacob Kowalski, the loveable muggle from the first film, survive this journey? Only time will tell.

However, the biggest reveal comes from the revelation that Nicolas Flamel will be in the film. If you’re a Potterhead then you should easily recognize that name. If you’re not familiar, Nicolas Flamel is an alchemist who is the man that created the Philosopher’s Stone. The same Philosopher’s Stone from the very first Harry Potter film and book.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald follows gagizoologist Newt Scamander joins forces with young Albus Dumbledore to prevent the devious Gellert Grindelwald from raising pure-blood wizards to rule over all non-magical beings.
