What Groot said to Rocket at the end of Avengers: Infinity War

Spoilers! If you haven’t seen Avengers: Infinity War by now, you should probably stop reading this. The film was the darkest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having more characters die than any of the other films. There were 3 deaths at the end of the film that really made me feel something. One was, of course, Spider-Man dying in Tony’s arms, then Winter Soldier calling out Steve’s name as he disappeared. But the death of Groot really made me feel something as he redeemed his teenage attitude by helping Thor make Stormbreaker and fighting side by side with the team.

As Groot died, he said his normal “I am Groot,” but in a tone that clearly expresses sadness. But what did he actually say?

If that doesn’t hit you right in the feels, I don’t know what will. I think that this might actually be more heartbreaking than Spider-Man’s death. I guess I have to watch the film again knowing what I know now to determine which was actually sadder.

What do you think? Do you think that his last words explained the relationship between Rocket Racoon and Groot? I think it was very telling of what the future holds for Groot, but that is just my opinion.
