If you’re a fan of the SteelSeries Arctis headset line for gaming, then buckle up because the Arctis is getting a huge upgrade. SteelSeries is proud to announce the new Arctis Pro gaming headsets, and it is taking its beloved headsets and beefing up the technology inside to give you unprecedented sound quality for your PC or PS4.

The Arctis Pro will look familiar as the design hasn’t changed from previous Arctis models, but the real difference is that the pro will be the first gaming headset that has high fidelity audio. This is accomplished by designing the Arctis Pro with high-resolution speakers which double the standard frequency range. It has a dedicated amp and a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to give you clean and clear sounding audio.  The DAC is powered by a high-performance ESS Sabre Chip that allows the arctis pro to have a low distortion when listening to the audio.

There will be three different models for the Arctis Pro.  The lower end will be the USB version which is followed then by the USB version with GameDAC and the high-end version being the wireless version. The wireless Arctis version will be the real star of the new series which features a GameDAC breakout box which is also powered by an ESS Sabre chip. The wireless headset runs on a 2.4ghz frequency which makes the headphones lossless and zero-latency. Don’t worry about stopping to charge up these headphones as one of the ear-cups has a removable cover that gives you access to the dual-battery system.

Typically, high-fidelity audio is meant for extreme music lovers who don’t have a problem buying expensive DACs, speakers, or headphones. But with the Arctis Pro, SteelSeries aims to bring the high-end audio experience to today’s hardcore gamers. It’s exciting to see what kind of sound the new Arctis Pro provides when you’re playing your video games. Will being able to hear in high-fi audio give you a more pleasurable and immersive experience when you’re playing your video games or will it give you the auditory advantage when playing online with other competitive players?
