Overwatch League’s SF team #BabyBayChallenge becomes charity for mental health

Overwatch League’s San Francisco Shock posted a black and white selfie of teammate Andrej “BabyBay” Francisty. The aftermath? It turned into a viral campaign for mental health awareness with even Shaq partaking of the #BabyBayChallenge.

BabyBay originally posted the black and white selfie on his Instagram, with the San Francisco Shock Twitter account sharing said photo. Cory Vincent, former Nerd Reactor content creator and NRG Esports vice president of content, poked fun of the image by posting his very own dreamy version.

San Francisco Shock turned the #BabyBayChallenge into something nobler by donating to National Alliance on Mental Illness – San Francisco, a youth-focused mental health charity. For each person who takes a side-by-side photo emulating BabyBay’s pose while tagging @SFShock, the team will donate to the charity.

After the announcement, many more joined the #BabyBayChallenge including Shaq, esports commentators, pro players and fans. Even your very own joined.

You can visit the National Alliance on Mental Illness – San Francisco site to donate.
