Jurassic World 2 teases new dinosaur and full trailer coming Thursday

The first official trailer for J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom doesn’t release until Thursday, but we’ve been getting a few tidbits here and there to get the hype train rolling. On Sunday Night Football, Chris Pratt was on-hand at the Seattle Seahawks game to debut the first snip-it for the trailer. The clip features Pratt’s character Owen Grady, Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire Dearing and newcomer Justice Smith.

We see Grady running and telling the other two to run as well, as it seems there’s a volcano erupting with a herd of dinosaurs in tow behind. As they’re hiding behind the gyro vehicle w saw in the first film, you can see the scene is a nod to the original Jurassic Park where Alan Grant is hiding behind the downed tree with Lex and Tim as the Gallimimus herd passes over them.

The second clip comes courtesy of writer Colin Trevorrow, and a Twitter post he put up earlier with the caption “more teeth.” I feel like this loosely referenced the “more teeth” moment we saw in the first Jurassic World where Claire got the epiphany that they needed more teeth to beat Indominus Rex. This time, we catch a glimpse of an all-new dinosaur that’s never been seen in the franchise yet called Baryonx. Even though it was shown for a brief moment, it was confirmed by Trevorrow on his post. We also see the T-Rex knocked out in the back of trailer, so who knows why that is or what’s to come.

The third clip comes from Pratt again, but this time it was because he was hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live. In this new clip we see the T-Rex knocked out in the back of a trailer again, but now we have it waking up with Grady next to it.

We’ll just have to wait until Thursday for the trailer to get the full scoop. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hits theaters on June 22, 2018.
