Justice League opens at $96 million domestically

Justice League - Ensemble Poster #3

The first numbers are in for Justice League which earned a lower-than-expected $96 million in the United States. This is the worst opening yet for a DCEU film, but it did open to $185.5 million from 65 markets worldwide. The film has opened to some controversy with a huge cap in critics and audience scores. Cinema Score currently ranks the film as a B+ based on audience reactions, while Rotten Tomatoes has it at a 39% according to critics, and an 85% audience score. This film still shows a huge divide between critics and audience members and personally, I know most of us at Nerd Reactor rather enjoyed the film, which you can read about here.

Justice League Synopsis: In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is the follow up to Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Wonder Woman. It is directed by Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon, and stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, and Jeremy Irons.
