Beyoncé joins the cast of live-action Lion King film

It looks like the queen has joined the cast of Disney’s live-action film The Lion King – Queen B, that is.

Beyoncé has announced the news on her official Facebook page that singer will voice Nala, Simba’s childhood friend and love interest, in the film.

Beyoncé rounds out the cast of star-studded actors who include Donald Glover as Simba; James Earl Jones returning as Mufasa; Alfre Woodard as Sarabi; Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar; John Oliver as Zazu; John Kani as Rafiki; Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan as Timon and Pumbaa, respectively; Eric André, Florence Kasumba, and Keegan-Michael Key as the trio of Hyenas; JD McCrary as Young Simba; and, Shahadi Wright Joseph as Young Nala. Based on the award-winning 1994 animated film. the live-action version will be directed by Jon Favreau.

Disney’s The Lion King is slated for July 19th, 2019.
