Justice League runtime is shortest of DCEU so far

Justice League - Ensemble Poster #3

You read that correctly, Justice League will have the shortest runtime in comparison to the rest of its DCEU counterparts so far. According to Manabyte, as well as Regal and AMC theater chains, Justice League clocks in at a 2 hour and 1 minute running time. It may not seem like a big deal, but in fact it really is. Let’s just take a moment to look at the DCEU’s previous four films to compare:

  • Man of Steel – 143 minutes (2 hours 23 minutes)
  • Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – 151 minutes (2 hours 31 minutes)
  • Suicide Squad – 123 minutes (2 hours 3 minutes)
  • Wonder Woman – 141 minutes (2 hours 21 minutes)

It’s actually not a bad thing at all for the film to just meet the 2 hour mark. At the very least, we can hope that it won’t be drawn out too much. Even though Zack Snyder did most of the original shots and production, Joss Whedon was there for not only some reshoots, but post-production as well. As those faithful in the MCU would say prior, in Joss we trust. I’m also wondering if this means we’ll see either an extended edition or a director’s cut at some point, similar to how Batman v Superman did. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Justice League hits theaters on November 17th.
